Background

Aset is a national Awarding Body. It devises qualifications (ASET Qualifications) that appear in the National Qualifications Framework, and approves centres learning programmes (“ASET Awards”) and provides certification of learners who successfully achieve an ASET Award or ASET Qualification.

Further education colleges, sixth form colleges, University’s, Training providers or a Local education authority (LEA) are among successful accredited centres.

ASET Certificates and Programmes

These are programmes that are developed and owned by ASET licensed centres and validated by ASET.

The ASET awards service is designed to meet the accreditation and quality assurance needs of providers of education, training and skills development.

Awards are designed by ASET licensed centres and accredited, quality assured and certificated by ASET. Awards are usually listed on the LSC learning aims database and are eligible for LSC funding.

All Centres that submit a learning programme to ASET for accreditation are put through a rigorous vetting process by experienced and qualified staff who scrutinise the submission to ensure that it meets ASET’s nationally recognised standards.

All training programmes must give clear statements of appropriate aims and objectives, achievable and measurable learning outcomes, progression opportunities, and fair and relevant criteria for assessment

All students upon completion of an accredited course will receive a certificate from the governing body with an individual certification number. All certificates are trackable and also come with the relevant description of National Award in Tiling Skills embossed.

Should future employers need to verify the authenticity of the certificates this can also be undertaken.

Future progression:

Although an ASET award is a very high accolade it is not to be confused with an NVQ. These can be gained by undertaking on site assessments (O.S.A.T) in order for this to be achieved you must have relevant site experience and be able to demonstrate your knowledge within the industry. Your ASET award coupled together with a portfolio of jobs will certainly be beneficial during this time. We can also arrange for all the necessary assessments to take place when the time is right.

Always ensure that the course you are taking is an actual accredited programme, not an "in house certificate" or one that "Claims to be recognised"
